How to maximize the cleanliness of a cleanroom
2025/9/29
A dust-free workshop, also known as a Clean factory building, clean Room (Clean Room), or dust-free workshop, refers to the removal of pollutants such as micro-particles, harmful air, and bacteria in the air within a certain space range, and the control of indoor temperature, cleanliness, indoor pressure, air flow velocity and distribution, noise and vibration, lighting, and static electricity within a certain required range. And the specially designed rooms provided. That is to say, regardless of how the external air conditions change, the indoor environment can maintain the originally set requirements for cleanliness, temperature, humidity and pressure, etc.
01 Cleaning Requirements and Precautions for dust-free workshops
Clean the columns and support columns under the raised floor once every three months.
2) Prepare the cleaner with 90% deionized water and 10% isopropyl alcohol;
3) Mop the floor after vacuuming it. Wipe the wall once a week.
4) Check the garbage bins in the workshop and preparation room every day and clear them away in time.
5) When vacuuming in a clean room, a dedicated vacuum cleaner equipped with a high-efficiency filter should be used.
6) Each floor should be vacuumed. Each time a shift is handed over, the completion status of the work should be marked on the map, such as where it ends and where it starts.
7) Vacuuming and wiping should also be done under the raised floor.
8) Use the approved cleanroom-specific decontamination agent;
9) When working, always remember to wipe from top to bottom, from the ground farthest from the door towards the door.
10) Special mops should be used to clean the floor of the cleanroom.
11) All the doors need to be inspected and dried.
When cleaning the walls inside a cleanroom, cleanroom dust-free cloths should be used.
02 Control of Pollution sources in Dust-free workshops
The maintenance and control of cleanliness in a dust-free workshop not only require the investment in hard equipment but also a good software - management system - to complement it in order to maintain a good level of cleanliness.
According to the test and analysis results, the pollution sources in the dust-free workshop account for approximately 80%, and when the workers enter and exit the dust-free workshop, the pollution sources in the dust-free workshop can be divided into external pollution and internal pollution sources.
External pollution sources mainly include Air conditioning supply air, gap infiltration, buildings, work clothes, as well as general gases such as N2, O2, AIR, water supply, solvents, etc. Internal pollution sources include production equipment, workers, tools, processing and manufacturing, partition materials, workbenches, packaging materials, etc. Therefore, for a dust-free cloth manufacturer to work in a dust-free workshop, it is not only necessary to use dust-free materials such as dust-free cloths and dust-free suits, but also to strengthen the management of personnel entering and leaving, so as to give full play to the due role of the dust-free workshop.
I. Maintenance and management of hardware facilities in dust-free workshops
1. The dust-free workshop should maintain an appropriate positive pressure (>0.5mmAq), ensure no air leakage during construction, and carry out dust prevention actions such as cleaning and wiping before personnel, equipment and raw materials are moved into the dust-free workshop. Air filters should be properly managed and installed.
2. Prevention of indoor dust generation: Appropriate selection of materials for cleanrooms such as partition boards and floors, suppression of dust generation from manufacturing equipment, production automation and avoidance of personnel gathering, relaxation of movements, management of clean suits, and use of special equipment for cleanrooms, etc.
3. Prevention of dust accumulation indoors: The walls should be smooth without dead corners, the dust-free workshop needs regular maintenance and cleaning, and there should be space left around the process equipment.
4.Dust should be removed immediately if it occurs.
Second, the key control object for maintaining the cleanliness of a cleanroom is the operators. Therefore, for the number of operators, their movement status, and the formulation and implementation of entry and exit rules, it is necessary to enhance the cleanliness awareness of the operators in the cleanroom and provide repeated education.
Personnel entering the dust-free workshop must meet the high cleanliness standards and maintain the best condition.
2. The number of workers entering the cleanroom should be kept to a minimum (the less, the better), and they must follow the standard procedures for entering and leaving the cleanroom.
Iii. Management of Materials Entering and leaving the cleanroom
The entry and exit of materials and equipment must also go through a cleaning process to avoid affecting the cleanliness of the dust-free workshop.
2. When cleaning equipment or materials in their rooms, staff must wear clean clothes. The wiping paper used should be lint-free paper or lint-free cloth that does not shed fibers. In addition to using ultrapure water, the cleaning agent should also be mixed with 3-5% concentration of IPA or acetone chemicals to enhance the decontamination ability. As IPA and acetone are volatile, Therefore, the exhaust effect of this room must be given special consideration.
3. In addition to the clean clothes, shoes, head covers, hats, gloves and masks used for entering and leaving the dust-free workshop, the indoor supplies also include items such as paper and stationery, tables, chairs, chip boxes, trolleys, notebooks, notice boards, garbage bins and vacuum cleaners. The materials of clean suits should be those that do not generate dust after washing or other treatments. The fabric should be non-flammable, non-pilling, and the weaving method or fabric structure should be resistant to contaminants and not adhere to contaminants. In addition, they should not generate static electricity or have very little charge when rubbed, be easy to wash and regenerate, not prone to wrinkling, and have a comfortable wearing experience. These are also considerations for selection. The material of the hood is dust-free paper or non-woven fabric, while the material of the hat is the same as that of the clean suit. When both are worn and used, except for only the eyes and the surface of the face being exposed, all other parts need to be covered. The connection between the head and the upper garment must also be fully covered without any gaps, and the hair must not be exposed. Shoes for a dust-free workshop should fit well and be comfortable to wear as the basic conditions.
