Clean room dust particle detection method and sampling point setting specification

2025/2/26

The main purpose of dust particle detection in clean workshops is to ensure that the air quality in the production environment meets specific standards, so as to ensure product quality and performance. Tiny dust particles can contaminate products, lead to a decline in product quality, and even endanger consumer health.

In addition, dust particles may also cause damage to production equipment and reduce production efficiency. Continuous and effective environmental monitoring of clean areas is therefore essential ‌. The standard requirements of dust particles in clean workshops should be based on the needs of different industries and products. In general, for pharmaceutical, microelectronics, precision machinery and other industries with high dust requirements, the concentration of dust particles should be controlled at a low level.

01 Clean room dust particle detection method

(1) ‌ cleanliness tester method ‌ :
The cleanliness tester is used to sample and test the air in the workshop, and the cleanliness is judged by calculating the number and size of dust particles in the air. This method is similar to the aerosol counter method, but may provide more detailed data and analysis.
(2) ‌ aerosol counter method ‌
The air in the workshop is sampled and tested using an aerosol counter to determine cleanliness by counting the number and size of dust particles in the air. This method uses an aerosol counter to measure the number of dust particles in the air and thus assess the cleanliness level of the clean room.
(3) ‌ electrostatic sedimentation method ‌ :
The method by placing a certain number of glass sheets or metal plates in the workshop, after a certain period of time, with a microscope to observe the number and size of the dust particles above, so as to judge the cleanliness. This method assesses the cleanliness of a clean room by directly observing the number and size of dust particles.
(4) ‌ cleanliness test board method ‌ :

The cleanliness detection board is placed in the workshop, and after a certain period of time, the number and size of the dust particles on it are observed with a microscope to determine the cleanliness. This method assesses the cleanliness of the clean room by observing the dust particles on the detection board.

02 Specification for setting sampling points for clean room dust particle detection ‌

The setting of dust particle sampling points in clean rooms should follow certain principles and steps to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of detection. ‌ Sampling points shall be arranged in accordance with the following principles:
‌ Sampling points are generally evenly arranged on a horizontal plane 0.8 m above the ground ‌ to ensure that the collected data is representative.
When the number of sampling points exceeds 5 points, it can be arranged in layers in the area from 0.8 to 1.5 meters above the ground, but each layer should be no less than 5 points to ensure the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the data.
